Help with Shaker 500

Arghh!The Shaker 6 disc changer in my '06 took a dump apparently.Won't play or eject,shows "cd error".
Radio works fine.Anyone know any tricks to fixing this?I'd hate to have to remove the whole unit.Any ideas are gratefully accepted,thanks.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting?

About the only thing to do is yes, remove the radio from dash, open up the bottom and unplug the CD ribbon wire harness which deletes the CD feature. All other functions will work, just reinstall and good to go.

There are many good utube vids showing how to remove radio. I was "really" carfull and it took me 40 minutes. I can do it now in half the time.
