It's finally out and live on the market. The Steeda Whipple belt drive. Retail price is $1249.95 and available now via PM to me or on our website. Please check out the following attachments, as there are a few things that you must know before putting this on. First off, Whipples only, as that's what it was designed for. Secondly, it will fit under the stock GT hood, but some modifications will need to be made, that's what the 2nd attachment is all about. For those of you with a cowl type hood, such as our Race or Street hoods, it will fit with no modifications. Also, due to the smaller pulley on the blower, this will make your Whipple kit's boost output at 13lb. We don't recommend that much on a stock bottom end, and no other pulley setup will be available, so use at your own risk on stock pistons!

This part was designed with extensive testing on the drag strip and the road course. The Whipple uses a overly long single belt setup that is prone to slippage and breakage under hard shifts due to stretching. We kept seeing breakage on the 1-2 shifts at the 1/4, and this part was the fix. Expect a harder boost hit on tip-in, and an instant hit when you hit the gas, there's no slip with this setup.

Nice job on the instructions. Color pics and clear markings are a bonus. It's obvious that whomever developed it has never worked at Saleen. :thumb:

Knowing your feelings, I will take that compliment.

We know this part is aimed at a very specific setup and buyer, but I think it a pretty cool setup, and I expect some guys to get it just on the looks alone.

Whoa, that is a beautiful piece of metal.

Are these going to be developed for any other blower kits?

No, we are mainly focused on the Whipples in respects to superchargers, so no other ones will be supported at this time.

Just checking in---on the boost capability of this system. Any new pulleys developed or perhaps different size pulleys tested?

I currently run a 2.625 on the whipple, and a 10% overdrive on the crank.

New boost setups are available now! Check out the link:

Keep in mind that since this is a complete drive system, you can't really go by the pulley size you are currently using to compare since we use a totally different pulley than what Whipple does. Gauge what you are looking for by the boost ranges of our systems.

it looks easily adaptable to a kb system. Id liek to see a pic of the snout where it meets the blower. Im willing to bet they use the same drive and it would bolt right on.

Aint that the truth...one of the owners who is an engineer had to make an idler pulley setup for all the 99 and newer cars. My 01 had that problem horribly...anyone who used it got great results...they should of taken notes from the customers

I just installed the kit and I am breaking in my new block and clutch, next week I will be dyno tuning the car. I can't wait to see the how much boost the kit will have on my setup.

I do have to say that I am slightly disappointed though, the original belt I received was too short and then the correct belt had a spot about 3" that the grooves were not cut. When I started the engine the bottom 10 rib pulley bolts were to long and started to scrap the timing chain cover, but after some extra washers and running the car for a few hundred miles the belt is wearing in and the timing chain cover is fine.

Over all I happy with my choice, just a few hick-ups along the way.

I have my tuner coming out to tune my car this Thursday and I will let you know what it ends up being. From what the Steeda page says the kit I ordered should be 14-16 psi.

It might be even a little more. I have some customers that have seen up to 18lbs! It will depend on your setup ultimately.
