It seems we have been working on this kit for a year, but the fact is we finally found the time to get it done. As you know the Kenne Bell Stage 3 kits come with the Ford GT Supercar rubber inlet and KB MAF/Filter unit. So after tons of requests from Kenne Bell owners we designed a kit to fit the large twin 75mm throttle body of the Stage 3 kit.
A massive 5.5" at the throttle body and a hat size of 6" at the filter, this thing is huge. Available in roto molded plastic in 2 finishes, black textured or your cars exact body color or real Pre Preg Carbon Fiber. The plastic tubes are a full .250 or 1/4" think and measure 148mm ID at the MAF, while the carbon fiber tubes are thinner due to it's extreme strength it measures in at 155mm.
These sizes will support 700 to well over 1000 RWHP.
As a matter of fact, the guys from Evolution Performance installed one on Chris Cruz's 2011 5.0 which made well over 1000 RWHP and set a worlds fastest speed record running 8.99 in the 1/4. It can flow some air!
We headed up to our friend Brad's shop in Hampton VA, Horsepower Solutions to do some dyno testing on his 2008 GT500. It has the KB Mammoth stage 3 kit along with headers, killer chiller and all supporting mods.
After a couple pulls, Josh, the tuner at HP Solutions realized the MAF counts were very low, so we removed the Diablosport MAFia and got back to tuning. Basically the large size of the JLT allows the stock MAF sensor to gain range and work at a much higher HP level, tuners will love this.
Once the A/F was set, he added back in the timing to match the base line runs and hit it!
Boost picked up by about 1 psi resulting in a good gain across the entire RPM range.
Custom tuning is required.
Recommended for cars 700-1000+ RWHP
If you have our JLT Big Air Intake, there is no need to go out and get this. The Big Air will support 800-900 RWHP with no problem, we just made this to fit the large KB throttle body and saw that it could fit big Whipples too.
