Here's a step by step installation of the Lethal Performance 3" offroad X-pipe for all 2011-2013 GT500's.
Start by putting the car up on a lift after it's cooled down.
Disconnect the 02 sensor wires for the drivers and passenger side at the connector.
Loosen the (4) 15mm bolts that clamp the midpipe to the overaxle pipes.
Loosen the (4) bolts which hold the midpipe to the header manifold.
Remove the wideband sensor from the midpipe on the passenger side.
With a friend helping you hold the stock midpipe in place while you tap the clamp which holds the midpipe to the overaxle pipe towards the back of the car with a hammer.
This will free up the rear of the stock midpipe so it can be removed.
Once the stock midpipe is removed swap over the rear 02 sensors from the stock pipe to the 3" X-pipe and install the drivers side leg of the new 3" X-pipe. Keep the bolts which hold the leg onto the pipe loose so you have some movement in it. This will help when re-installing the 3" pipe onto the car.
With a helping hand lift the 3" X-pipe into place. It's easiest to slide the rear clamps over the back end of the X-pipe where it meets the overaxle pipes. This will help keep the pipe in the air without the need for someone else to hold it anymore.
Re-install and tighten the wideband sensor on the passenger side.
Re-install the (4) nuts which hold the X-pipe to the stock exhaust manifolds.
Connect the 02 sensor wires for both passenger and drivers side at the connector.
Tighten the (2) bolts which hold the leg to the X-pipe.
Before completely tightening the (4) bolts for the clamps which hold the midpipe to the overaxle pipe.
You'll want to make sure the catback/mufflers are aligned properly. You can do this by having someone at the rear of the car pushing the catback forward or backward into the position that you'd like it to be in. Once it's in place the person at the clamps can then tighten the bolts to hold everything in place.
It's highly recommended to get a custom tune when removing the cats on your 2011-2013 GT500. If you don't tune the car specific to the offroad pipe you won't fully benefit from it and you'll throw a check engine light.
If you have any other questions or would like to purchase one of our 3" Offroad X-pipes you can order online or simply give us a call.
Thanks, Jared
