So been toying with the idea of getting a S650 GT- maybe a convertible again, went on the local dealer site.... HOLY SHIT.... I was shocked that a GT is going for 51-55K and a Vert topped 58K! That's German premium car area prices.

SMH... maybe I'm just out of touch

New and used cars have gotten insanely expensive! You really cannot buy anything new worthwhile for under $50K.

I watch those auction shows/sites and cars that were worthless when I was a kid are priced out of this world... Basic AMC Gremlin, Dodge Duster, Ford Fairmont's, etc. all going for $60-80K!

Sounds like you need to crack open that lumpy mattress you sleep on. But yes, pricing has increased drastically.

Yeah, I know what you mean...

Just bought the Wife a fully optioned 2023 Dodge Durango R/T and everywhere they were starting at sticker $57K+

Thank GOD I had a connection at the local Dodge dealership, but it was still just a tad over $50K. A new Lexus for $40K, heck I'd buy 2 of them. LOL

You got a hybrid?
happy wife, happy life...

side note, saving a ton on fuel, her previous DD was a Audi A5, needed premium fuel and averaged about 22-23 mpg in her daily driving, this thing is getting 36 and runs 87, so about $30 a week in savings it seems so far.

My 2014 GT/CS was about $36K out the door. A couple years later the 2019(?) Bullits were stickered at 50-51K at the local 'one price' dealer.

Yeah dealer mark up has gone crazy.

I have seen $20K on top of the list price.

The salesman I got my R/T from said that they are selling SRT Durangos starting at $80K and Hellcat Durangos for over $100K with no problems.

$108,432.00 for a mach 1 if you borrow. I think the dark horse will be nearly 100k cash, here, plus tax.

Easy for me to give up cars and just stick with my wooden wheel and stick, deck of cards and oil lamp in the winter.

You really want some sticker shock look at the price of a new F-150
Buying any truck for that matter sucks right now.
I had to get a truck for a new job and did not have cash. Anything used cost just as much per month as a new F150 with used car finance rates right now.
$1000 Cdn per month gets a 2022 302A XLT F150 or a 2018 version of the same truck with 80,000 miles on it but one less year of payments.

I recently traded my 08 Mustang GT/CS convertible for a 2012 Mustang GT convertible. I didn't do a great deal of negotiations. They made an offer, and I thanked them for their time. As I was leaving, they asked what I wanted for my 08. I told them and they met my price. My counteroffer was $1,000. less than what I paid for the car four years ago.

They didn't argue. My 08 sold in less than two weeks.

Thanks to what I have learned on this site and one other I knew far more about Mustangs than the salesman or manager, so I was ready to walk and pass up the car I wanted (and now own).

Wife's 2023 Jeep was $56K - getting $pendier w/ all the electronic doo-dah's that we're still trying to figure out. This thing's like flying the Space Shuttle. :D
