So, apart from cars, my other big hobby is photography, which is brilliant because I get to combine the two. I still prefer to take my car down the quarter more though.

Anyway, I know there are some photographers on here, so I figured I'd go ahead and post a couple of galleries for constructive criticism. I will probably add more down the road. For the iphone/ipad users, all the galleries unfortunately are in Flash as I simply export from Lightroom.

  • With a little help I spent the day doing some basic paint correction on my buddy's old GT that he had just bought back, so this was a bit of improvised picture taking. Basically no editing and post processing was done on these as I wanted the paint to speak for itself: http://galleries.kontrakarma.net/mustangs/rays_03_gt/

  • I got bored on day while hanging out at the shop, so I asked my buddy if he would mind volunteering his car. I took out a lot of paint chips in post processing. #5, always wanted to try doing a rolling shot. We got quite a few weird and worried looks from passers by: http://galleries.kontrakarma.net/mustangs/trevors_92_gt/

  • Volkswagens, and a lot of them, but I wanted to take pictures of something other than Domestics, and these guys were around the corner. Post processing wise it was my first attempt at a mild split toning. #28, gotta love it. #42, yes, that's the side view mirror on my vert, and no, I couldn't help it: http://galleries.kontrakarma.net/ncdubs_food_drive_11_2010/

  • Draggin Rights is a local event that usually runs biannually, has some classes, but is mostly just street car TnT. #19-30, I had a feeling the car was going to pull a wheelie, so for once I was ready and got lucky. #35-41, my all time favorite Saleen bar none. The owner rolled into it very easily off the line, so you can see how the car starts twisting when the torque sets in on #38-39. It broke the Viper spec T56, and twisted the driveline components somewhat bad on the following pass due to the power: http://galleries.kontrakarma.net/dragging_rights_fall_2010_set1/

Added April 27th:
  • I'd been trying to get my buddy to let me at least attempt a paint correction of the heavily oxidized roof on his Lightning. I did get rid of most of it, but I was a bit scared of the deeper swirls, so I let it be. 8 hours later the truck looked bad ass enough to make me go for the camera.

Great photography man. You sure do have a good eye.

I love the black guy with his hand out from 19-21 in the draggin' rights series. Guy is hilarious.

Thanks for your comments!

I finally got the urge to play with a camera back. The two sets below have seen no Photoshop time. Everything has been done in Lightroom.

What gallery are you using to display your pictures. I like how it does it---I use photo bucket to host pictures but its not very effective if I want to post several pictures of an event like a PSCA race for example.

It's all a part of Lightroom, and it's really rather simple. You need your own domain to which you can upload everything, but the rest is as simple as this:

Worth noting, in their newest Simpleviewer version the guys behind it have included a Mobile version of the gallery for those non-Flash devices.
