Well, winter is just around the corner. Time to plan for the 2012 road racing season. Going to try something a little different. rear mounted Turbo with a new 3.7 duratec v6. With the way digital boost controllers are getting I should be able to build a pretty light tq monster.

1st the Donor . I very light hit v6 salvage mustang 6 speed. Getting it stripped and ready for a cage. going to cut a lot of inner structure out of the car.

I just love that you share stuff like this. I'm looking forward to the build - something different for sure.

What class/series are you building towards? Are you shooting for or limited to a specific power-to-weight ratio? Kind of like to see what twin-turbos would do to that V6's power output if fully uncorked.

Best,

rear mounted as in where the stock fuel tank is "passenger side" running fuel cell in the back to help with weight balance. fresh air from the outside of the quarter panel .

With the electronic boost controller I can actually control how much boost for each gear I'm in. it's all programmable.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I was wondering what a car would be like if it had less boost down low and with each gear change added more boost.

Like if it started with 5.5 psi in 1st, went to 7.5psi in 2nd, 10 psi in 3rd, 13 in 4th and 16 in 5th and above. It would be interesting.

About 10 years ago I read about a turbo motorcycle that was set to make the same wheel hp in every gear. Not sure how it did it or how it rode.

Sure would like to see it in person and even lend a hand, but will have to settle for distance-learning and -appreciation.
