After doing some research it seems they are not smog legal for CA. So it looks like I will be off road racing with mine.:deal:
I am going to get the J&L 3.0 as it comes with the factory clips to attach to the 4.6 drivers side. That way I can simply switch back to the stock line for smog checks..... I mean when I get back from my off road racing adventures.

WTF ? Why wouldn't a simple catch can be legal in Ca ?

That looks normal if you don't have a catch can. i have a large moroso can and th oil vapor enters through the bottom, then has to go up a pipe and through some steel wool type material then back down and out to the intake. i don't get much oil in it and i don't get oil puddle in my supercharger intake behind the throttle body any more. imagine having a pool of oil collecting there and one day it gets sucked through a WOT. could be a very bad day. it's the aluminum bottle attach to the air filter shroud.
