It finally stopped raining long enough in the NW to enjoy some HP and speed. The track was really loose most of the day and I believe there were 6 incidents. One of which was a friend's FR500 that hit the barrier. Surprisingly, the only damage was a broken RF wheel. A quick wheel swap and he was back on the track.

My car ran great and the 6 piston brakes are amazing. However, since my coilovers are on back order, I installed some stock and very used V6 shocks and struts and ran my NT05's. Needless to say, the suspension sucked really bad but the NT05's did OK. The best lap time for the FR500's was a 1.41. My lap times were 1.37's. Considering the setup, I can't complain. The only other thing I have to sort out is the cooling. I had to turn the heater on full to keep the temps down to 200.

I got into a cool battle with a 1000HP twin turbo Lamborghini Gallardo. When I caught him at turn 2, I was about 4 feet off of his bumper. Watching flames coming out his exhaust was very cool. He went wide going into turn 2 and I took him on the inside. Being that he was on slicks, he was all over me in the tight stuff though. I was surprised that I could pull him on the straight and out brake him. My highest speed for the day was 174 MPH. After my coolant temp reached 215, I had to wave him by.

Anyway, the pics are not great but thought I would share anyway.

Fantastic! Seriously impressive stuff, especially given the suspension setup! :thumb2:

A few weeks ago, I added a diff catch can. It doesn't work though. After the first session, the back of the car was coated in gear oil. The solution is too install a larger catch can and mount it in the trunk.

On 4/02, I will be back on the track with some new parts.

How long is the straight where you hit 174mph? It looks like the track runs along the dragstrip and then merges with it on the shutdown.

It does parallel the drag strip and then at about the 1000' mark, it transfers onto the drag strip. The total length is 1/2 mile. Of course you can't run full throttle the entire way because the first corner is a left hand 80-90 MPH turn. I'm guessing that I enter the straight (turn 9) at about 75. At the end of the video, you can see me enter turn 10 at about 145.
