Hey all!
Today I took a drive with the intention of adding some Lucas Fuel System Cleaner to the tank when it was almost empty. Got to the gas station, put the additive in the tank and filled her up.
When I got out of the mini mart, I noticed a small pool of fluid behind the rear drivers side wheel. It was oily, but smelled like gasoline. My assumption is that it is fuel mixed with the additive.
I traced the pool to this drain tube that’s situated just behind the wheel, which stems from the filler neck. In the included image, you can still see something barely dripping from it, but there’s no puddle now.
What is the purpose of this drain tube? Why would my fuel additive have come straight out of it?
