Ron I was just wondering is this the pinion flange you include with your shaft and if not do you know if it would work with your shaft?

I still have not installed your shaft that i purchased last year and have heard a few of the flanges you got may have been bad and would like to take some preventive measures to eliminate a issue prior to having the shaft installed.

Not saying i have a problem because i honestly do not know and I also am not saying there will be a issue as I have complete confidence in you and your shaft but if i can do something with a better part to eliminate any possible issue i would prefer to do so.

hahaha too funny guys.
the flanges we found machined wrong were actually the u-joint flanges (cradle, saddle, end flange). some of them were as much as .100" crooked (thanks dana/spicer!:wtf:).
all are checked now and replaced when necessary before shipping.
I've only had one report of a pinion flange being bad and i haven't gotten the part back yet to evaluate it further but this seems to be an isolated incident.
the flange thats in the picture is the same flange we use. it's made by SKS for Fomoco. other than the one report last week we haven't had any issues with the pinion flanges.

The one thing you need to remember about this board, be careful what you say...

Yeah i think i just found that out.

Thanks Ron.

Can you look up my order and see if I may have gotten one of those bad yokes? Is that possible? Or was this on some recnt orders?

If so I will pm you my name.

it was from one batch of 50 shafts dated 1/08 not all of them came with the crooked flanges but it was enough to cause us a bunch of crap. If you have one with a date of 1/08 email or call me and i'll tell you how to check the flanges. The quality of stuff we get now is nowhere near what we used to get. It takes us longer to build them now then ever but we've adjusted to it now and know we can't trust anything and all parts must be spec'd before during and after assembly. periodically i grab a couple new ones and test them in my car just so i can stay on top of things.

You must be master of swapping drive shafts Ron. Can you come by on Sunday and stick my stocker back on for me. It should only take about 1/2 an hour. :popcorneat:

yes as far as i know no one has any of those left. we've sold about 250 since then so they should be all taken care of by now.
when i realized there was a problem with some of the flanges i stopped all shipments until we got it straight so all shafts dated 2/08 and on have been measured and checked for the flanges and we don't use any flange that doesn't meet our specs. we've not had that problem since.

I actually have an order i'm working on for modular depot so they should have more of them in a few days. we've had a week or two backorder for a while now. just can't build them fast enough now to keep up.

no issues with mine and it is pulling 1.43 60' times and has been raced hard for a year now and I just pulled it out while building my fuel tank and there is no evidence of any wear in the slip yoke or anything so I am impressed. by the way, I need another one for my wifes gt

I give a yawn to Spydershaft. I put one in- no immediate miracles.

I will be happy if it gets rid of the stupid clunking the stock shaft seems to have. Any minor performance gain is a bonus.

And why would you expect miracles by merely replacing the driveshaft seems to me you were being a bit un realistic
