Stripe cleaning

How do I clean my vinyl stripes on my 2005 GT? They are discolored in places and I cant get them clean for the life of me!

One of my friends have a roush with the flat black stripes and during detail before delivery they got wax on the stripes. It has been a loosing battle with the dealer trying to get them to replace the stripes. He uses silicon based vinyl dressing to get rid of the white marks left by the wax. The only problem is that is not a permanent fix. He has to do it every time he wash his car.

what color are your stripes?

My stripes are silver...it seems they have 'dirt' spots all over them.
