Stripe Color

I figured this would be the best place to get help. I took my 07 GT to a new car wash a few weeks ago to get it hand washed. The manager backed the car into a pole. It was a gentle tap but my Le mans stripes have two tears in them now.

The shop agreed to re-stripe the entire car. All is well so far. I got a call saying they couldn't track down a matching stripe kit for my car. The dealerships all say it's aftermarket. You couldn't prove it by me because they were on the car when I got it.

Can anyone tell me what the exact color is of my stripe kit and where to get a new kit so I can have it applied? I really like this exact color so getting it right would be important to me.

I can provide closer pictures if necessary or if you have any other way of determining the color that would help.

Ah yes, I'll take my lumps.

The particular shade of blue is in question and whether they are in fact after market or not. None of the kit's I've found have accounted for the hood scoop.

only thing I could think of would be to take it to a paint shop and have them run there color coder computer on it.

Did yours have the stripes down the front bumper too? The kits on the Roush website don't seem to have them on front bumper.

Yes you may have to call direct their website photos are a little confusing but the kit i bought from them had the bumper pieces also.

call them up, they had 2 shades of blue, the lighter was saphire and the darker was kona, i think. good luck.

Two bits of bad news. First being that Roush says their stripe kits don't cover the bumper and second I talked to the first owner of my car (I'm the second owner) and he said the stripes were on there when he bought it from the dealer.

Back to square one it seems.

True enough, that just makes it worse since the dealer can't tell me where the stripes came from.

You know just as a guess I would say check the 3M catalog of colors. Is it metallic? If not, it would probably be Sapphire Blue

Saphire blue, looks a lot like grabber blue, that shade is too dark. Yea go to 3m, they usually make the vinyls everyone uses anyway.

Well, today it's all said and done. A vinyl/graphics shop did the new stripes. I picked them from a catalog with samples to find a color that was a close match. The color is called King Blue.

The shop that did them was Miss Print in Hammond, IN. Erin who is the shop manager did the stripes and they're amazing. Better than the original set I think.

I wish I could tell you, but I didn't pay for any of it. The car got new stripes because the car wash manager tore the ones on the rear bumper backing my car into a pole while trying to get it out of a wash bay.

I can tell you that it took an entire day to get the original stripes off the car and clean up all the adhesive. Then it took an entire day to do the new stripes but that's with only one person working on it.
