I'll probably be getting tint within a week or two, but I have a few questions first.

1) I've heard stuff about the tint getting scratched off. What causes this, and what can be done to prevent it? Do I have to tell the tinter to put something on to protect it?

2) What % should I get? Pennsylvania allows 70% all the way around except on the windshield (wouldn't get any there anyway), which isn't much tint at all. What do you think I could get away with? 30 or 35% maybe?

And if anyone has photos of a black tinted Mustang, that would be great.

Thanks!

Look just a few threads down and you'll see that you need to install a strip of moleskin to the window guides. This will keep your tint from scratching.

As far as what % to get...I say go 5% all the way around.

How is 5% when you're driving at night? Any problems seeing?

The 5% will make visability a little more difficult, but so will 35%.

I have 5% on the rear window and quarter windows. The only time I have trouble seeing is sometimes when backing up in a unlit area at night (like a parking lot). Other than that it's no problem. I used to have 22% on the door windows, but the CHP made me remove it. Bastids...

Thanks for the input, guys!

I think I'll go either 15 or 20% seeing as how it doesn't get too hot up in this neck of the woods...and if it does, not for very long. Cops aren't too prick-ish up here, so I think I can get away with it.
