Trunk Lock Cylinder behind Right Rear Seat??

Went to Car Show today with my 71 Maverick and not the Mustang. I was BSing with 2011 GT Convertible owner and he comes up with topic about hidden trunk lock cylinder behind rear seat. I said I had no idea what he's talking about but I knew my 2010 didn't have one.

Sure enough he showed me the lock cylinder and unlocked the trunk from it. It was behind the lower back cushion on the driver side.

Is this a 2011 thing??? Or is it a Convertible thing ??? I was amazed when he showed it to me.
