Do I need to replace or should replace the valve cover gaskets when swapping valve cover for coated ones?

On an 05 I would seriously consider putting new ones on just to be safe. With all the Heat cycles they have been through, you might get a leak.

Does it help or hurt the fact that breenspeed had to take valve covers off to do the cams?

when did Brenspeed do the work and did were they replaced then?
When i did my cams I do not believe mine were ever replaced. I would assume they would be ok to be reused. But i did replace them when i swapped out my valve covers since they had over 100k miles on them.

I'm getting up need 100k too. I'll just replace them.

I just got mine through Ford. Im sure what grommets are but I didn't get them.

are you talking about the rubber pieces that hold the bolts onto the valve covers? If so no you do not need new ones.
