What can I do about this paint damage?

Yes dont do what the actual paint guy said to do. If it really is through the clear coat then go ahead and hit it with a buffer so it will heat up and the clear will start flaking in the surrounding area.

Yeah this is not the type of blemish you hit with the buffer. If anything it'll rip my pads to hell.

if you cant fix it with a buffer or wet sanding, then its repaint time.

This is what I've been saying since post 2.

Agreed. It almost looks like the white might be a transfer of sorts though.

I doubt it's any "clear bubbling" like the OP mentioned.
