Finished laying down the kerdi for the walk-in shower last night. Will let it cure, flood test the results and then on to the tiling!

Also scrubbed out more of the oil stains in prep for the epoxy floor I will be laying down in my workshop. Then comes the 2-post, then the rest of the garage stuff. 1050 sq/feet ... gonna be NICE!

Please take and post tons of pics as you continue to seal and finish this project. Dying to see how it turns out.

Thank you

I did all the work myself. Each piece was run through a thickness planer till they were all about 3/8" thick (this was done on just one side). Then I ran the topside through at about 1/32 just to take some of the old wood off the top, leave some of that aged appearance and level things off a bit. I used a jig I made on my table saw to square off one side on each board and then was able to run the other side through normally on the table saw. Finally, I squared off the ends on my miter saw.

Not 100% positive. At the least, there will probably be about 4 coats of minwax poly clear. I may apply a mix of vinegar/steel wool to give it an aged gray tone.

Thanks.

Finished laying down all of the boards last night. If you're curious, here is a link to my construction photos of what my kitchen looked like and a lot of the renovation process that I did prior to getting this far.

I've seen this, and love the idea with some amazing results. What are you running as a planer?

Put it on the market - my wife doesn't like condo living, and wants to relocate to North Carolina since she hates Michigan winters. Listed it for quite a bit more than we paid for it, but we did a lot of upgrades this past year. Listing came out yesterday and today we had 4 showings and one scheduled for tomorrow already.

Condo across the street, same as ours, is listed for $17,000 less than ours. But they haven't done any updating so it needs carpet, paint, wallpaper is peeling in areas. Agents are taking people to that one first and then coming to see ours.

Wow, 2 days and the condo is sold - at our asking price, cash.

Nice I was hoping you'd say more that size not the huge expensive standup ones

I did go through a few blades though. Two sets. They run about $45 a set, which isn't too bad given the number of boards/passes I made. In fact, it would have probably been fewer but some of my early boards were thinner. I found the vast majority of 'good' pallet boards to be over 1/2" thick and having to only take about 1/32 or less off at a time is a lot of work. For $400 new, it's not a bad deal and in this case, I actually borrowed the machine from a friend who had used it to process some reclaimed wood for a brewery he just opened. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have done this project.

Man your floor looks great. I saw a similar color setup some time ago at a friend's house and ever since have been interested in doing something similar.

Finally cleaned up the left side of my garage and made some room. My new roommate just bought a 2006 BMW motorcycle so I made some space to park it in the garage.

3 doors painted today (the 2 bedroom doors at the end of the hallway plus the bathroom door, done in teal)
3 doors left to do, plus some trim.

Been super busy ...

Epoxied my workshop floors. It's Sherwin Williams HS1000 two part industrial epoxy with a Rexthane single part epoxy top coat. Base coat color is called Blueblood. Black, white, and light blue chips.

Had to get more to finish the other part in the back, but it's all done.

-------------------------------------------------------

Installed garage doors in the workshop, it's now ready for cars! Lift will be installed in the center. Will be putting a roll-up door in the center as time (and money) becomes available.

-----------------------------------

Also have been tiling the shower in the master bath, that I built. After gutting the existing shower/toilet setup. It's almost done, just haven't taken any recent photos.

Looks good, Gabe. I seriously hate painting, which is why it is taking me so long to finish! Today I picked up the paint and trim pieces for my front door. Going to just paint it and hang new trim around it rather than replace it at this time. Also picked up a new handle set and peep hole. Spent over $300 at HD and still need to go back and get the weatherstripping.

No woodpeckers attacking my house but I have been battling the wood boring bees which like to bore into the cedar trim. I keep filling their holes with pesticide and then caulking/painting over them. Haven't had any new holes in the last 4-5 months.

I'm super jealous of the shop, looks awesome! Bathroom is looking great also. I learned at my previous house to use darker color tile in the shower. Or is that real marble? We need finished pictures, please.
