Put an innovators west harmonic dampener on. Discovered my power steering pulley was bent. Stripped the threads out of the shaft so I have to get another pump. And another pulley. FML

How do you like the G2's as opposed to the gen1?

From personal experience, I've only had the G2's.. So I can't really provide a comparison between the gen 1 over the G2's.. I can tell you the G2's stick much better when cornering and also offer much better ride quality over the Sumitomo htr Z II's they replaced lol.

Really like the tread design on those Gabe.. Looks as though they'll be my next set when my Nitto G2's finally wear out lol.
DW's are discontinued and have been replaced by the ExtremeContact Sport which has better tread and better sidewall. Very comparable to the MPSS if not better. Supposedly blows the DW out of the water.

Thanks, I got them on a closeout with only a few left. Looking forward to having them on the car!!

I figured they were discontinued when I bought them, but I also remember that they got great reviews while they were around, so I went for them, especially at only $318 shipped for the pair.
The next option was gonna be the Goodyear Eagle F1's, and there's no freaking way I was gonna buy those.

They are good tires, definitely. I'd rock them. He'll my 285/40/18's are 140 per. I just plan on doing a good amount of track days on whatever tire I get next. So the new compound will be my choice.

Gabe,

I think you will really like the Continental DW tires.
I ran them for years and IMO they had better traction on the drag-strip than the M/T Street Comps.
My Bullitt at one of the Texas Shootouts with the manual tranny ran in the 12's with those tires.
Then it had like 560 H/P.
And the drag-strip was damn sure not one that was Heavily Treated with VHT !!!
No noise at all coming from them while driving on the road.

Put some more miles on the new clutch before the torrential rain this afternoon. I just need another 150 miles to hit 500. Then I can really try the new setup out.

My son and I took advantage of this mornings good weather to install a few of his Christmas gifts. The biggest of the lot is an MGW shifter for his '05.

The MGW is best viewed prior to install since you can't see much of it installed in the Mustang:

A great day of wrenching with my son!

Swapped intake cams on the car today. No more F150 intake cams. The car definitely pulls harder now and will actually do something past 6K RPM besides make noise. The cam swap wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. A little time consuming, but it seems almost impossible to screw it up. While I was in there, I almost replaced the F-150 oil pump with a Mustang pump.

I may go work on cleaning the wiring up some more tomorrow. I wanted to do it today, but I took too long on the cam swap. Ignore the two random wires, those are trans related and will be gone once the MT82 goes in. I didn't want to spend the time wrapping them up if they were just going to come out in a couple weeks. I wish I had some before pictures.

Thanks for bringing me up to speed.. The better tread and better sidewall comparison with the MPSS are a definite plus indeed :waytogo:

Put some new tires on, BF Goodrich G-Force Comp 2s. Only have just under 100 miles on them but they feel smooth. Good turn in response too. The OEM Pirellis were finished at 38K.

^^^ I think that you will really dig those tires. I am about to finish off my set. I guess they have <1000 miles left in them, and they have been great. Had I not found a stupid good deal on some Conti DWs that are being discontinued, I probably would have gotten another set of Sport Comp 2s. Great tire for the money.

Speaking of tires...

Those Conti DWs are awesome! I assume that you caught the closeout deal from Tire Rack? I picked up my set for a little over $500 shipped.

I had a set on my car, ran them dang near down to the cords, and replaced them with the aforementioned Sport Comp 2s. Both tires are great, but for $141 per tire, I couldn't pass up the Contis!

Yeah that was it.
I looked yesterday and they still showed a few in stock.
I almost ordered 2 more, then started thinking about ordering 4, for the spare set of 18's I'm picking up soon, for track duty.

Got a tune from Lito [emoji51]. Hopefully I will have all my parts in by my next set of days off (March 10-15) so I can run the tune for him. Pretty excited to see what you guys have been talking about.
