Yeah... I want some.... After I forge my bottom end. I made my hood scoop functional today. You can't hardly tell either. Used my dremel tool to router out the holes between the webbing on the stock grill looking thing on the hood scoop and painted it black. Goal is lower underhood temp and IATs when it gets a hundred blinkin degrees during the summer here

I may be wrong, but wouldn't increasing airflow without also increasing extraction just create more pressure, and thus heat?

Yesterday/Last night - Got my MM sub frame connectors in from LMR for my SN95 vert. build. Waiting for the cage and add'l pipe to come in. And put my race tires on Rhonda for upcoming event on Sunday.

Trying to get my ****ing transmission out to install my new clutch. Anyone have any suggestions for those 2 goddamn top bolts on the bell housing?

Can't speak for removing the trans in an S197 but in previous vehicles I dropped the motor a few inches and used lots of extensions.

When removing my whole driveline I took the transmission out first. It's easiest to take the intake manifold off and then those two top bolts are cake.

Removed mine with very long extension and stiff swivel. I have to take the top half of my motor apart as the KB intake leaves no room to tilt the motor... and the bolts just weren't reasonably accessible from the top.

Several 1/2" extensions and a good impact wrench.
Got the tranny out and new clutch in. McLeod Super Street Pro. Hopefully it holds up to the power until I completely rip this sucker apart, forge the bottom end and will probably put in an RXT. Thanks for all of your input skwerl and everyone else. Appreciate it. What a PITA

Drove it to work and really enjoyed the top down drive home as the fall weather we are having right now is perfect!

With a friend's help, we got my new VMP triple pass / dual fan heat exchanger installed today.

I also took a few minutes to put on the fog light tint I've had.

Love the new look, and love the new heat exchanger.

New VMP heat exchanger finally installed last night.
The super-XL size alone is awesome, but hearing the fans and seeing that massive thing behind the bumper is uber-cool :D

The pics:

Getting ready:
(yes, I painted it black so it blends in behind the bumper better)

Now, the size difference between the VMP and the standard Whipple HE:

The VMP is slightly thicker, huh?

Just about done:

New front-end look, including the newly tinted fogs (using film from bigwormgraphix.com):

And just cuz it was there and they look awesome together, a pic with both beasts together :)

We didn't get to install the Roush lower grille delete. Turns out I have a template that says "rear side splitter" or something like that on it ... and not a template for the front bumper, and it was getting late so we tabled that for another day, when we'll also get the new 170-degree t-stat installed, and hopefully a new tune for it, to turn on the OEM fan at lower temps

Got rid of the o-bama tune last night. Poked around it with some logging equipment before pulling it off the ecu... very interesting choices they made on some shit. Like limiting how much timing the ecu can pull when it senses knock... THAT is how you make power and don't grenade engines, limit the ecu's ability to protect itself!

Freshly installed dents and scratches.
