I started working on my own blackout panel. I bought one off Amazon with the keyhole in it, filled it with JB weld plastic weld, sanded the hole smooth, and now I've got it drying with high build primer to get rid of the texture. The plan is to wrap it in gloss vinyl when I'm done. I didn't want to try and wetsand/buff such a flimsy plastic. I'm afraid the primer will flake when I'm wrapping it. We'll see though!

Installed 2010 GT500 mufflers and pedals. F... me. I forgot how much of a pain those pedals are to install. Thanks ChrisGT for getting me to go with these instead!

Trying to pull the brake and clutch pedal "rubbers" over the existing pedals is a pain. Even with putting them in hot water as per the tip.

here it is. i think it looks awesome. i did three coats with two quick passes each. another coat would probably make it exactly like the surrounding red, but this is really close, and the reverse lights are more of a pinkish so definitely noticeable vs. the brake lights when i'm in reverse. i missed a spot because i taped it off wrong on the passenger side, so i'm going to go out there right now and hit that little clear strip.

yeah i was surprised by the difference. glad i didn't drop $400+ on some new tail lights. used that on the tune and tuner instead. btw the bama v2 race tune is very mild and streetable, for anybody who might be considering it. i like the (seemingly) quicker throttle for rev matching vs. the performance tune

Not sure if you're going to or not, but you should probably spray a guide coat over your primer, especially if you're wanting to do a glossy finish. Without that your finish could turn out wavy due to not being sanded evenly. If you don't know what a guide coat is feel free to respond on here or shoot me a Pm!

I definitely plan on doing that! I'm going to block it out before I wrap it, it got a little wavy by the keyhole when I was sanding it.

Lots of fun this weekend

First replace my dronemasters with some Ford racing GTAs I got from JohnF78
Love the look and still a great if not better tone. They are a little bit quieter but its a fare trade for no more drone.

Painted them first

The Plasti-Dip I used was anthracite off DipYourRide.com. The original color, Konig called it "Black Opal" w/ polished stainless lip, but it was pretty close to Tungsten (w/o the purple). I'll never buy rims with the polished lip again though--dents way too easy. I have dings from rock chips.
