What is an MT-82 Heavy Duty, and what cars are they in?

Hello all,

I've spent 15 minutes but not 90 minutes or 15 hours of Googling and forum searching, but the title says it all. The chart at this link confused me: https://www.cjponyparts.com/resources/s197-mustang-history

I don't have a lot of complaints about the MT-82 because I shift slow (mechanical sympathy left over from being a transmission rebuilder), but I was surprised to see the ratio differences listed.

I thought the maybe the "heavy duty" just means the version in the V-8s, but the Steeda chart seems to conflict with the CJ chart ... Complete Mustang Manual Transmission Guide | Steeda
