As some of you may have seen ive purchased an 06 Saleen S281 SC, as you know the Saleen comes with some suspension upgrades:

-Springs
-Shock/Struts
-Front Sway Bar

Now ive done a ton of suspension work on my GT and i want to cary over some of the parts:

-Steeda Lower control arms (fixed)
-Steeda adj Upper control arm w/ heavy duty mount
-Panhard Brace

Im not sure what to do with the sway bars, i have Steeda front(adj) and rear sway bars with the billet mounts. Should i transfer the sway bars over to the Saleen? I understand the Saleen sway bar is solid and non adj but the Steeda piece is hollow, so lighter and can be adjusted and has the billet mounts. The rear sway bar is stock GT on the Saleen, the steeda rear would be lighter and will have billet mounts. Any thoughts? reasons to leave as is or move over?

I will leave the Steeda Springs & D-specs on the GT, i dont think its worth the time to remove the camber plates because id have to get new set as they are one time use. I dont want to spend money on the alignmet, so its not worth removing the adj tie rods or Ball Joints.

Anything i may be forgetting? Any thoughts?

Thank guys!

Ive taken it out for a few spirited drives, it handles pretty well but nearly as stiff as the GT. The wheel hope isnt as bad as the GT was with the stock control arms but i think that is due to the cold weather and the Pirelli Rosso' not getting any traction.

their is no real difference with the steeda and saleen stuff. But i would def swap the panhard brace and UCA. Or check it out on the saleen and see what it has now. Maybe things were swapped on it.

LCA, UCA & Panhard all stock GT on the Saleen. only thing that has been changed are Springs, Shocks & Front Sway Bar.

swap it all over

saleen stuff = eibach springs, eibach front sway bar, non adj tokicos

From what I've read the saleen branded eibach springs are linear so they are not like the prokit, the schocks are saleen branded bilsteins not eibach, you may jhave the shelby gt kit confuswed with the saleen.

All that extra labor and alignment To do an entire swap would make it not worth the carry over..

You say the saleen is supercharged, ye? So wouldn't you want a stiffer spring in the front anyway?

Saleen springs should be stiff enough, dont think the Steeda Sports are that much more stiff that it warrants swap and re-alignment.

I was saying that the steeda springs may not be stiff enough..I don't know if they have a supercharged specific app. I bet they do, or at least a gt500 variant.

If my memory is correct Sam Strano mentioned using Steeda Competition springs for SC equipped cars.

That happens to be what is on mine but the recommendation to do so came from F1Fan.

The question is, are the Steeda Sports i have on my GT superior to the Saleen branded Eibach springs on the Saleen and are they worth the labor to carry over and realign, my thoughts are NO! but i wanted to run those ideas by you guys, same goes for the D-Specs as compared to the Saleen branded Bilsteins.

Saleen used bilsteins up until 2005...one of the many bills they couldn't pay, like recaro..thus the change

Are you sure 2005 was the year? because the seat design changed in 2007 models, My 06 has the Recaro seats.

You should probably need to switch over the rear stuff like panhard bar, LCA's and UCA.

Thats the plan, prolly going to leave the adj panhard on the GT so the wheels will stay centered. The Saleen has a stock panhard but the wheels appear to be aligned and even in the rear.

I'd probably just dump the panhard bar when you get the chance and put on a Watts link. I got the steeda one and I love it. Saleen makes one too.

since 2003, saleen couldnt pay the recaro bill and started using classic soft trim design foams, headrest, and liners on factory seat frames. There was no recaro after that point. I originally thought the 05's had bilsteins as well, but was corrected that saleen had started using tokicos for their shocks/struts
