I have a 2007 Shelby GT and was wondering if a dyno tune would have any benefit, or any idea's from yu guys...

Mods: 4.10 gears, IRC delete plates, Pypes long tubes with OR pipe and Bassani exhasut. From factory mods" FMs cold air kit and 90 mass meter.

I have a SCT tuner now...

I am a good driver or at least better than average for sure.. My times are slower than I would have expected..I am speed shifting ever gear..

60Ft 2.004
330FT 5.7628
1/8 8.8068 @ 80.60mph
1000 11.3888 @ 95.24
1/4 13.5534 @ 104.60

I run a 245/55/18 radial out back on stock rims. They are 28.+ inch tall. which I am sure is part of the problem...

With the taller tires out back I run thru the 1/4 in 3rd gear...

I am planning on getting some ET streets or DR's at some point. Not even sure what size but not being able to run thru 4th gear seems odd with 4.10 gears..

What do you guys think?? Is it all in the tires or is something not jiving from the tune. Or both??

Thanks for any help in advance.. Spencer

I have over 10 time slips just like the one I posted.

Your times are good ............ if you were driving a stock '99 GT.

A Shelby with headers, intake, 4.10s and some traction should be running high 11s at 115/117 or close to that.

Your mph is WAY low. There's definitely something wrong. Maybe start by looking at the tune, and/or do a basic tuneup with plugs, wires, fuel filter, etc. Maybe there's a weak coil pack or something too.

Shit. I read it as Shelby GT500, sorry.

It might be a little off, but not much. If you haven't had it tuned locally, it might be worthwhile.

Your problem is the 60ft time...these cars are heavy and have small motors so the 60ft is very important...get some DR or slicks and get the short time down to a 1.75 or 1.80 and that should get you in the 13.3s and leave the line and 5k

My thought is with some good tires I can get a 1.80 or better 60 ft time.

If that is the case it should save me 4 tenths worse case...Every .10 you take off the 60ft is good for .20 down the 1/4..

What size tire do I need to get to use 4th gear in the 1/4??

26x11.5x17 ET Street??

On my 03 Mach1 with the same tires I was running a 1.69 60ft with these leaving around 5K...

Should my car have more mph with the mods I have???

I'd say focus more on shifting and launching better, get a set of tires and see what you can do.
No point in changing what you haven't mastered yet, tough love!
You have one more mod than I do, long tubes.

I use 26" tires, I end up around 6k passing the line in 4th.

Not sure what the DA was when you were running but that can make a big difference. On my 3v I ran 26" tire and 4.10s put me at the top of fourth. I would launch hard with 6k drops, the best was a 1.57 but consistent low 1.6s. Best was a 12.57 in +500 DA, CAI,tune, short belt (bypass the ps)LCAs,O/R H. The car was consistent low 12.7s in average +2500-3000 DA for my area. I speed shifted the car and never powershifted the car, the car trapped 110-112 depending on DA.

I ran 275/40/17 MT drs. I would recommend a 15" wheel (to give you some more sidewall).

I'm not trying to threadjack but I have the same question. With the mods in my sig, would it be worthwhile to get dyno tuned over my current bama tune?

It depends on the tuner, honestly some dyno tuners won't even get near the number of parameters that some of the best email tuners work with on the car.

But again, it depends on the shop but with your mods I don't think you would gain much.

There are some really good tuners nearby, but I was thinking I would save my money as well.

Lito man. I tried the dyno tune thing. Just wasted money. Pm lito. But for minor bolt one, bama tunes for life is a good deal, every time you change something get a free updated tune. Can't go wrong. Better then canned tunes.
