I'm looking for some camera gear.

A new or used Nikon D90 (or better).

Nikon SB-600 SpeedLight (or better).

I am also looking for the following lenses.

  • Nikkor 18-105mm lense
  • Nikkor 18-200mm lense
  • 10-20mm Wideangle (Not Sigma)

i have an 18-105 but they are so cheap on eBay that I think I'd ask too much for mine if i were to sell it.

Also, the Nikon DX ultra wide is 10-24mm--I have it and it's my favourite lens now. It's pretty much all I use. If you don't mind not having AF, the Tokina 11-16mm is really really sharp and has a wider aperture. However, 11-16mm was really restrictive for me. The 10-24mm range is awesome IMO.

I'd honestly want at least $250 + shipping, simply because the lens is flawless (i'd include a UV, fluorescent, polarizer filter too). Overall, I wouldn't feel right selling it at that price and would rather keep it. You can get a much better deal on eBay.

To be totally honest though, I'm looking to upgrade to the 18-200. It's more zoom and would make it so you don't need a telephoto. If you wanted more zoom, you could get a cheap FX lens and use that. That's what I do for telephoto. I did some testing with the 18-200 and you can read any reviews on it. It's just as sharp as the 18-105 but with more range.

The 10-24 Nikon is amazing (it's pretty much all I shoot now) and paired with the 18-200, you'd have everything you need for almost all situations. If you're serious about it, this would be what I recommend. The 18-105 is light and easy to use though and is very cheap used (because it's a kit lens after all, it comes with the D7000).

What camera are you shooting?

I actually found a new one for $258 on eBay. I would like the 18-200 but it's a pretty big step-up in price. I don't know what I'm going to do to be honest. I'm using a D60 now but am finding a place to buy a D90 right now.

That's a really good deal! Just remember they ARE kit lenses so they are cheap and plenty in the used market. I did not know this at the time and regret buying mine new.

Have you looked into the D5100 or D7000? The D3200 and 3100 are great cameras as well. They are just a bit more modern than the D90 in terms of the sensor etc. My D5100 has ridiculously good low light capabilities, which makes it easy to shoot in dim places with slow glass.

I picked up a D5100 and have a lot to learn. Adorama had refurbs with an 18-55 lens included for $424 shipped earlier this month.

Now I don't need any of this stuff. I just ordered a Nikon D90 with the 18-105mm kit lens for $780 shipped. Also won an auction for a Nikon SB-600 Speedlight for $190. That's a 67mm lens right?

I thought that's what it was. I've been using the B+W filters and really like them. B&H had them for like $31. I'm going to place an order for some lens bags, some small stuff, etc.
