I didn't paint the roof yet, still unsure what I want to do about the roof liner.

My Cobra Monaco seat is on its way, should be here sometime this week. Gonna fab up some brackets and try to reuse the stock seat sliders. I also re installed the stock seat belts because apparently its a big deal if you remove them and a cop sees. Parts of the paint looks blotchy but in person its pretty uniform, will work well for a track car.

I've been thinking of getting into some form of road racing and this gave me an idea. Can't wait to see how it turns out

I can't help but notice there are zero beer cans in any of the pics. Don't tell me you are doing all of this completely sober?!

The seat is here! Just what I expected, fits me well, pretty comfortable. Its 101*F here, felt bad for the UPS guy and gave him a cup of ice water. I am going to measure out a way to use the stock seat runners with this seat, it should work, keyword SHOULD. I'll post a picture up later.

I just went to look at an '84 944 last night. I think I will end up buying it. It is in decent shape but pretty homely. It has phone dials which are my least favorite 944 wheel and it has a bad gray paint job. Only $1100 though.

17x7.5 17x9. matte black. theyre good lookin but definitley were rattle canned. by no means perfect. but the rims themselves arent damaged at all. brand new 235 width kumho asx up front. 275s out back. yokohama avs sport but the prior owner camber weared the hell out of them. they need to be replaced. Missing 1 rear center cap. I do have spacers for the front to run them on an early offset car if you need. Without spacers id like to get $650 + whatever shipping is. ill double check 2nite but i recall verifying that they are oem wheels and not knockoffs. I could post some detailed pics for you if ya like.

PS those are the wheels in that pic i posted (i know you cant see detail).

PPS i paid $500 for that car! Such a gift.

Update

Pulled the side skirts off the car, they were fiberglass, held on by wood screws, and looked out of place. If I ever meet the jerk who used wood screws to pull these stupid things on, i'll beat him with a hammer. I had to drill the screws out, they were flat from rust forming over the heads.

Anyway, here are the results. I like the look of the car now alot more.

Also, here is my new seat and harness. Still waiting on my passenger seat, had to order it direct from England as the place I got the first seat ran out.

UPDATE

Who loves two sport seats with matching 5-point harnesses?

This guy!

I have decided I need to cut a little bit out of the stock mount locations to get the seats low enough for me to fit with a helmet. I went through several dremel cutting blades trying to cut it, I will need to amp up my arsenal a bit more, perhaps a angle grinder with a 6" diamond tip cutting blade (gonna borrow it from work)

Love the build!

Do have a question, I understand you are keeping the same drivetrain for now, but Im curious what the plan is for down the road.
