No lol don't threaten him. Just "inform" him. His case is very strong and I don't think he is going to have any problem winning his case....just don't go overboard. You definitely want to try and do everything in your power to settle this out of court.

You can't record someone's voice without their consent. It's federal law and would not be admissible in a court of law. Since you've acknowledged that fact here, I wouldn't touch it. +1 This is your best shot. He would most likely fess up in court. Just don't say or do anything else to him...

I'd say could be 1 of these: 1. CAM Phaser - very easy to damage this part on cam installs. 2. Bad lifter or loose rocker slap 3. Piston slap 4. Detonation at idle ?(these things do run very lean at idle and low rpm) .02

Pistons move up and down and that movement would not be measureable in degrees or am I missing something ?

Is it safe to say that spark advance and timing are the same thing ? If I datalog and see 28 spark advance does that mean I'm running 28 degrees of timing ? Also does that mean I'm at -12 degress of retard ? I think that is where the confusion is coming in...
