I want to see some pictures of a 295 wife tire on a 9 inch wheel. I would ideally like to see a picture of 295/45/18 if possible.

Thanks.

I just mounted 285-3/-19s on 19x9 wheels, and that's maxed out. I'd be surprised to see 295s on a 9" wheel.

These are 295/45/18 on a 9.5" wheel. I've also run 305/45/18 on the same wheel. I'd go with NT05 for a street tire. The tires in the picture are N555 and they are a pretty good tire but the NT05R is a better tire so I'd suspect the 05 would be better too.

At the present time I'm running 275/60/15 NT555R on 15x8 wheels and really like them. The drawback is that they aren't as good at the track as a true drag radial would be. As a street tire they are pretty good but I'm only expecting 15k miles out of them.

I'd think that a 18x9 would be sufficient for a 295/45/18. The taller aspect ratio lessens the required rim width. Plus the taller sidewall looks better, lol.

Jim @ JDM said 295/45/18 will fit, BBR says no.

I only have 1 inch clearance gap between fender and top of tire right now with a 285/40/18 so I am wondering if I will scrape as i have 99-04 saleen rims so the tires are flush with the fender, they are not inside the fenders completely.

Should I run NT555R, NT05'R or NT05?

It might be time for new wheels.

Any of those tires will work. The thing about the R tires is tread life. For this part of the country I'd go with the NT05. I'd be running them with my 15" wheels if they made them.

The only way I can go with NT05 is with 295/45/18 and I wonder about my fender clearance. I am spending the next 18 months in the Philadelphia area.

Personally I would not run 295/45-18 Nito555's on a 9" rim. Here is a picture of my 05 GT with 295/45-18's on a 18x10 rim with Rousch rear springs that lower it about 1 1/4 ". NO rubbing plenty of clearance with the wheel well. Anything bigger than 285's need to be on 10" or larger rims.

I've got 285's on a 10 inch rim. 295's seems to be a heck of a tire for 9 inches.

My biggest concern is rubbing since I'm lowered 1.9 inch on H&R super sports. I have 99-04 offset Saleen rims which the tires sit flush with fender and I only have 1 inch of clearance now and I have rubbed once or twice before going over huge bumps at high speeds.

That's just not true. It depends on the aspect ratio.

+1

I've seen guys mount 315/35r17 nitto 555r's on 17x9's. Each tire manufacturer is different. Nitto 315's tend to run narrow where as a BFG 315 drag radial runs wide and a mickey is in between those too. An advertised tire size is just that, advertised. Look up the actual measure dimensions to see if a tire will fit.

Example. I have 275/50r17 nitto nt450's on stock 17x8 bullitts. They're advertised to be roughly 28" tall, 10" wide, but measured out, they are actually more like a 27" tall, 9" wide tire.

Here is a 295/45/18 nitto NT05 on my 18x9 Tim. It fits the same as my NT555 285/40 does.

Must be a narrower tire. See for yourself.

It looks good from here. The taller sidewall allows for more width with the same wheel vs the 285/40.
