I have a 2012 3.7 6 speed car that has been giving me nothing but trouble lately. The car will start and then die as soon as it idles down. I have a CEL of P025a? Which from what I can tell is fuel pump driver module circuit open. I’ve checked all wiring, diodes, relays, and even swapped the module with a known working one. All to no avail and I have honestly run out of things to try.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From I understand P025a can be multiple things. Generally no start is included because it's a fuel delivery issue. If you have checked all the wiring and relay could be the pump or a clogged fuel filter. Unfortunately I believe the fuel pump and filter are one unit.

Everything I just mentioned you probably know and wasn't much help to you.

I bet the fuel filter has never been changed. Nobody changes them. It's a cheap part (about 10 bucks) and should be changed but nobody want to spend the few bucks.

Anytime I buy a "new to me" car it's one of the first things I do. Change the oil. Change the fuel filter. Clean/change the air filter.

^^^Agree^^^

Swap the fuel filter, dump some Chevron Techron in the tank and see if it shakes things loose - good luck!

Oh, and nice intro...

I agree with fuel filters but I'm afraid 2011+ cars have permanent filters built inside the fuel pumps. NOT removable and along the frame rail like us early S197 guys.

Nope. Inline. Should be changed at 30K, 60K, 90K, 120K and 150K. Every 30K basically.

Rock Auto is wrong. The 2012 fuel filter is the "permanent" one in the tank on the pump. Several people reported ordering one because the parts sellers show it, only to look under the car and unlike the earlier model S197, no filter along the rail. There wasn't one on my 2013, and the owner's manual said there wasn't one in addition to observing the car on a lift - yet Rock Auto shows the same fuel filter as your screen shot for the 2013 as well.

I looked at the 2012 owners manual and it does say that the fuel filter is service for life as part of the fuel tank. So filter is off the list for you. HA!

Replace the fuel pump, should come with a new filter. Remove your back seat, everything is there and looks like it won't be hard to do yourself. I couldn't find a youtube video on how to do it but some videos are close to it. Please disconnect your battery before you start :)
