    Volume or Pressure???

I checked on Arp’s web site today, they got every bolt, stud or fastener available for every important component in these Ford 4.6L Modular engines…….except for these chain tensioners……… So it looks like Ford is it. I wonder if the chain tensioner bolts for a 03-04 Terminator or Mach 1 4.6L are...

    Volume or Pressure???

Hey 07Boss, Am I blind or did those B1 chain tensioner bolts actually shear off leaving pieces of bolt shank still threaded in the block? I've always pondered if this type of damage would\could occur w\ these chain tensioner bolts................now I know. That's got me to thinking to get new...

    No Ground at MAF

You know................come to think of this, I'll also bet that the other blk wire IS the PCM 12v- ground wire off the board............. You may have just averted another potential issue since the other blk ground wire is also showing corrosion issues........so if I may make a...

    No Ground at MAF

Yep.......that's the alternative next step if the potential break in the harness can't be located & repaired. PS edit--The reason why this wire is grounded in the vicinity of the PCM is to reduce\prevent a ground offset since the 12v+ MAF hot wire power comes out of the PCM itself.......not...

    No Ground at MAF

That blk\wht wire is the 12v MAF hot wire ground.........it is grounded to the body at G102 thru connector C110 according to the 2005-2010 FWM wiring diagram so if I'm taking a guess, I'd check every body ground around the PCM for this blk\wht wire............or run this wire to another body...

Might be go big or go home time on my '06

FYI................. I've took a couple of pictures provided below of this CMCV RPM to Engine Load Opening Schedule that is used in a 06 MY Spanish Oaks ECU calibration file (1 on the left is the Ford OEM Schedule settings, 1 on the right is using the settings I've set for use in my '09 3V that...

HHHhhhhhmmmmmm......................... Please elaborate on this when you can as I'll assume that your builder\tuner had some input into the decision to completely lockout VCT using FI w\ a set of lopey cams...........................curious to know the reasons why when the overwhelming usage...

Thanks for the response..........I knew you also was using the FRPP IM prior & was curious. You probably saw Four Eyes video on this....................... FYI............I also ran A\B testing on these (I still had my CMCV\actuator assembly intact......swapped out my Steeda CMDP's & put the...

What have you done to your mustang today?

FYI............................. As of this evening she's fully tuned. Final idle speed is now set at 800 RPM (TQ Management controlled the engine w\ these Hot Rod cams much better when set at 800 RPM vs 750 RPM........engine under full HVAC load will now take off easily in 1st gear w\o any APP...

Newly stroked 4.6 3v need cam suggestions

Hi Fast1one, This isn't true anymore as the EPA has hit up on most all the OEM ECU tuning companies (SCT, HPTuners, Cobb, etc) to install a method of ID'ing a tuner (thru the tuning interface being used) who has tuned a vehicle that is using a factory production OEM ECU...........I know this...

    Driveshaft balancing the Ford way?

FYI......................... Got these parts delivered Thursday.........so I put her back in the air yesterday to swap out to the new bolts & washers w\ my 1\8" shims added so now trans flange is shimmed down a full 5\16" which put the U-joint operating angle in front DS section right at 1.0*...

MAF and Fuel Trims Wisdom Needed

Hi VBSTANG06, On the 05-09 S197's for sure, maybe 10 as well but not sure on this, there is no physical AAT sensor used. With these MY's the AAT is inferred from the MAF IAT readout using math in tune calibration\OS while the car is moving to prevent bad calcs from under hood heat soak while...

    Driveshaft balancing the Ford way?

As best I can find........the 2 CV joints Ford uses are a Rzeppa derivative design called a Birfield design (most commonly used on trans-to-rear axle driveshafts due to improved strength vs an original Rzeppa).......the front CV joint is a 932-type plunging design (means that this joint will...

    Driveshaft balancing the Ford way?

FYI for those so interested........................... After running this setup for a while, it came to mind to whip out my angle finder & physically check the actual operating angle of the front U-joint DS section since installation of this JXBPerformance S197 Center Carrier Assembly using...

    Driveshaft balancing the Ford way?

Now y'all can understand why I said that after this mod the 2-piece DS now has the connectiveness of a 1-piece DS........by tightening up the lateral side to side & vertical up\down flexing inside of the front CV joint from the center carrier moving about & maintaining the axial (or rotational...

    Driveshaft balancing the Ford way?

You're correct.....................if you also remove the midpipe. I tried to cut these tack welds initially........the 2 facing towards the rear I could get to, but the 2 facing over the midpipe, there just wasn't enough room to safely maneuver a 4" handheld grinder w\ disc & reach these 2 tack...

    Driveshaft balancing the Ford way?

Ok, the verdict is..........fact check-TRUE! This S197 center carrier bearing assembly setup does exactly everything the folks at JXBPerformance said it would do to the letter........ The Track version durometer bushings are very stout when fully compressed into assembly........I could only...

    Driveshaft balancing the Ford way?

Came in yesterday thru UPS so a day earlier than expected........................... The easy part is done...........now the work begins.......... After checking the 2 choices of rubber isolators (Street or Track), I'm gonna install\go w\ the Track set as they're the firmest durometer version...

    Driveshaft balancing the Ford way?

FYI.................. Got an email from JXBPerformance this morning that this part has shipped so I'll be expecting this to arrive by UPS on 4-24-24 (according to the UPS shipping manifest JXBPerformance sent). We'll find out soon.

    Driveshaft balancing the Ford way?

Thanks for posting this...................have also ordered 1 myself w\ both sets of durometer inserts to see which set I'll like installed. FYI..............I contacted JXBPerformance as to why w\ the 10-14 S197's you reuse the OEM spacers but w\ the 05-09 S197's you don't........was informed...

    FRPP Hot Rod Cams
