    6R80 6-speed Automatic transmission

If I knew how to make it work with my 3V PCM, I'd buy it in a heart beat. You wouldn't have the F-150 pcm by chance?

Caveat Emptor.... Livernois Heads (Pic heavy)

I did not notice different wear patterns on the stems. What you may be seeing is oil residue, as I was having issues pulling huge amounts of oil into the supercharger. I believe is a result of pulling more vaccum on the inlet side of the throttle body than the engine did origanally with the...

Caveat Emptor.... Livernois Heads (Pic heavy)

Maybe if pictures don't work, how about some numbers I went out and measured the distance between the edge of the intake port and the oring groove on my stock ford manifold, which turned out to be 1.677mm (.066 in). I measured 7.82 mm for the hole diameter, and it is a 6mm bolt. The factory...

A couple of thousand miles? geez ... that's only driving the darn thing to work for a week! The first valvetrain issues didn't happen until 1100 miles, then the second time the valvetrain went haywire, it was 700 after that. My tuner must have read my post and taken pity! LOL! I finally got...

It's "That Girl" again ....LOL! In regards to the rediculus pictures... If one looks closely at port #5, that seal is definelty exposed. So far the backup bead of silicone seam to be holding. I've got about 50 miles on it now, but I'm gun shy about driving it far untill I have confidence...

Caveat Emptor.... Livernois Heads (Pic heavy)

These heads cost allot more than 2k for a set. They run 3.2k to 3.6k for a set depending on whether or not they are stage 3 heads, or the rebranded "FRPP Hi Flow" stage 3 heads. In regards to the guides, I understand Livernois problems with various supplier (guides / valves / springs )...

Caveat Emptor.... Livernois Heads (Pic heavy)

No, bronze quides are an excellent idea for damn near any head. Engine manufacturers have been putting bronze guides into cast aluminum and cast iron heads since the 1930's. The possible issues with bronze guides: 1) Lack of a proper press fit into the head for loose guides in the head...

Caveat Emptor.... Livernois Heads (Pic heavy)

These are the hi flow, big valve, bronze guide, stiff spring, CNC ported, 1800.00 a piece FRPP heads. Which are repackaged Livernois Stage 3 heads. Leass than a year old, and less than 1100 miles on them. I never even got the damn motor broken in.

Caveat Emptor.... Livernois Heads (Pic heavy)

No, I had them repaired by another shop. I was initally at a loss to figure out why this happened. The head rebuilder at the shop spotted the issue as soon as he popped the springs off. I just didn't fell like dealing with the shipping, and the delays in sending them cross country and back...

Caveat Emptor.... Livernois Heads (Pic heavy)

Hmmmmm .... how similar this thread to one I have on another site! http://www.modularfords.com/f79/valve-train-carnage-182046/ I have FRPP Hi flow CNC ported heads (repackaged Livernois Stage 3 heads) and am having really similar issues with the guides. one of the number 3 intakes stuck a...

    alignment tool for converter

I'm getting ready to do an engine swap on my '06. The new engine has an eight bolt crank, and I purchased a "special 8 bolt 5r55S stock converter flex plate /adapter plate (for $600.00 ... the thing must be made of unobtainium!) from PA. Is this alignment tool required for this particular...

    6 speed auto - strong?

You 5.0 guys are really lucky to have an auto with potential. As I understand it, the 6R80 is based on the C6 which is mega beefy. Although there isn't alot of performance parts specifically out for the 6R80W (yet), if it is based on the C6, Development of these components shouldn't be too...
