Is the single 16 cheaper than the 2 12"'s?
They are about the same price since you have to get 2 of the 12's. I thought about it this way when choosing the fan setup.
The 2 12" fans only cover just a little bit more surface area than a single 16".
pie r squared. lol
12" = 113" x 2 = surface area of 226"
16" = surface area of 201"
So the 2 12 cover a bit more surface area, but with the samller motor housings they only flow 900-1000 cfm each. So times 2 fans that 1800-2000 cfm plus the shroud effective doubles the flow.
Even a standard 16" fans flows 2000 cfm already plus a shroud even more. And its less parts and easier to mount and you can center it on the core.
With 16" slim fans you can get larger cfms and larger motors 3000-3600 cfm. So thats an advantage.
Both setups will work fine but the single 16" has more potential imho.
for the intercooler i'm going to use, I'm just need a long aluminum bar to lay on the bumper support to hang the IC from. Maybe I can get something from home depot.
Yeah i just got the little flat bars of aluminum or steel from home depot as well. They are for like joining wood. They are cheap and work great to make brackets with, you can cut them, drill holes for mounts and bend them in a vise. I also primered and painted them black after i was done for the mounts for my coolant tank and ps tank.
