FRPP 5.3 shortblock pricing: $5850

$5850 MSRP. (Darn it, wanted to add this to the thread title.) I couldn't find this anywhere on the web. Given you can get a discount and sell your old shortblock, to me this is a bargain.

Features of the short block include:

Built from all new parts, not remanufactured
Based on BOSS 5.0 modular block (4.6 architecture)
94 mm bore
5.3-liter displacement
Eagle forged H-beam rods
Eagle forged stroker crank
MAHLE forged pistons with three-valve cylinder head compatible valve relief
Compatible with two, three, or four valve 4.6 heads, including Trick Flow
Compression ranges from 9:1 to over 10:1 depending upon cylinder heads

Head gaskets with bolts get up near $400 from FRPP, $280 or so for gaskets only from Cometic - this is due to the non production 94mm bore.

Interesting. The b326 lists at $5796. I can't help but to wonder what the better value would be (taking hardware into consideration, not just the cheaper block) when you factor in forum and/or vendor discounts.

Yeah I was just making fun a little bit. I checked out the B326 - pricing is identical now on their website.

It's an extra $1000 to get a boss block going between the head gaskets, motor mounts. I wonder what the dollar is going to do between now and next year? Good thing I make decent money these days.

Where are you getting the pricing and other info? This or the B326 are on my list.

M-6067-3V50 part number for the head changing kit with head gaskets specific for the Boss block and TTY bolts.

Direct from a guy I deal with at FRPP. I know it should be on the website/in catalogs pretty soon, Q2 2015.
