I installed a set of these 2013-style tail-lights from Raxiom. They are new at American Muscle (AM).

First off, I must say I am impressed with these things. They look amazing, and the installation could not be easier.

I had been running a set of LED sequential upgrade bulbs in my OEM tail-lights. I do like those a lot, they looked great on my car. These new lights, however, are smoked and sinister looking, and the 2013 style LED "rectangle rings" give them a really neat look especially when it is dark and your parking lights are on.

The reverse lights and brake lights are "integrated" into the center part of each segment and work well.

Installation is plug-and-play, and not only are they LED, but they are sequential as well.

Here is how the install proceeded:

BEFORE:

First, I popped the trunk and removed the rear trunk plastic panel that covers the tail-light bolts:

  • Remove four push-pins by gently prying out the center section with a small flat screwdriver
  • Remove the two upper plastic plugs using a T30 Torx bit. If you lack a Torx, a flat screwdriver with a proper width tip will unscrew the fastener.

  • Remove the panel after all six fasteners are removed:

(You can see four of the six fastener holes in this image):

  • Then, you remove three nuts per OEM tail-light.

If you have a Shaker 1000 subwoofer box, use an 11MM wrench (gear-wrench would be easiest if you have one) to access the nut that is "tight" due to the sub-box location.

The rest of the nuts (driver's side) and one on the passenger side can be accessed with an 11MM deep socket and ratchet:

The OEM tail-lights, once you remove the three nuts, literally slide right out. You must un-plug the wiring harness connector and push the grommet out.

Here is the packaging for the Raxioms:

Comparison:

OEM up top (with splice-in sequential kit) and Raxiom on bottom:

The Raxioms literally slide right in. Push the harness / grommet in first, then slide the three studs in, and re-install nuts. Plug in harness, install plastic trunk liner, and you are done.

New harness:

BAM! All finished:

Overall, I'm very impressed with these. Quality and fit is OEM style. Installation was very easy.

American Muscle will be carrying them. Product is 49169. They may not be on the site yet, but are coming soon.

Nice pics and walkthrough. I'll have to admit they suit your car well.

If you want to get rid of your old LED bulbs and sequential harness, toss them this way. I've been meaning to pick up a set.

Those are sharp. Question, when you hit the brakes do all three tails per lighthead come on at once? Or do they sequence from the inside out like my Web Electrics do?

LOL Tim!
They're sequential...meaning they sequence inside out.

Indeed. They are sure sexy. I'm grateful for the early chance to run these.

I said that because there are some aftermarket sequentials that only sequence when using the turn signal and not the brake.

Unfortunately Dave that video doesn't show the initial brake application. I was hoping to be able to see if they would sequence once then go to a steady burn like my Web Electrics do.

Surely DiMora can tell me.

According to Chris Rose, yes they do sequence once and then steady burn. I'll have to check mine tonight and see if that's accurate.

They look great on your car DiMora!

That's 4 sets on this board. I wonder who got the 5th set.
