Are they created equal? Whats the difference other than temperature?

No comparison really. Standard anti-seize is only good for around 1,400 to 1,600 degrees. Nickel anti-seize is hi-temp and rated from 2,400 to 2,600 degrees. The nickel anti-seize will withstand the combustion chamber temps if you are using it on your 4.6 spark plug grounding shields, the standard parts store stuff will burn off quickly.

It's around $25 for an 8oz bottle that will last you probably 10 years.

We're not exactly talking about a fortune.
