Oh and if I remember correctly my '90 IROC had 2.73s or 2.93s or something like that and I would just coast in 2nd, then floor it and turn. Wouldn't burn out but it would do some donuts.

you're missing 2 cylinders. Thats why you can't spin the tires, that and probably you're lack of driving ability as well.. Now with that being said:
