I watched the whole thing and didn't intend to. That was pretty exciting Marc. I didn't see anyone pass you either.

Is there any comparison between your 911 and the 08?

The lap times at Pacific with my race prepared 911 on slicks were 1:36. The Mustang is much faster even though it's a lot heavier.

I have a Hans Device that I had to wear in my drag car. It's really uncomfortable though. I'm going to replace the drivers seat with a containment seat and I'm going to start wearing my gloves and neck collar. I was wearing my driving suit and my Kevlar shoes. I'm pretty sure that the new seat and neck collar will help me concentrate on driving instead of trying to brace my upper body.

I'm really happy with the way the car is running. It never missed a beat and I ran it as high as 8800 RPMs. I started the day off with 20 quarts of oil in the tank/engine and finished the day with the same amount.

Man that sounds good going around the track. I thought I was on ESPN.

What kind of rpms is the car seeing in that video. Sounded like 8500-9000 a couple times!

I hit the 8800 limiter a few times because the tach reads 300 RPMs low. But mostly, I was shifting on the straight around 8500. In the back section and depending on the corner entrance, I was shifting between 7500-8500. I need to put a shift light in the car so I don't have to keep an eye on the tach nearly as much.

I received a confirmation email that Continental Tires will be sponsoring me slicks through 12/31/14. At $480.00 a tires, it will be really nice to not have to buy tires anymore. We are really close on landing a wheel sponsor too. My plan is to run a 18x11 in the front and a 18x12 in the rear. In the next couple of weeks, I hope to hear back about my coilover sponsor proposal as well. With any luck, I will have 3 way adjustable coilovers on the car with remote reservoirs.

I had a blast watching you Marc. Too bad you pulled off the track just as you were ready to blow by me. I wanted to hear that thing scream by me. My rear axle seal held out and I made it home. Car took a beating out there with that guy showering me with rocks. Hope to see you again next year.

My windshield took a rock hit and has a big crack now. There must have been people going off course because the track had a lot of gravel on it. Glad to hear that your axle seal survived the trip back to Canada.

I received confirmation that KW will be supplying custom one off coilovers based off of their competition 3A system. I can't wait to get these on the car and retire the K spring/D Spec combo.

I will also be changing wheels and going with Forgestar's in 18x11 and 18x12. Now, I need all of your help to decide which model and finish of wheel to get.

http://www.forgestar.com/v2/wheels.php

Now that I have Forgestar as a sponsor and I know what my rim width will be, I can call Continental so they can start sending me slicks. I'm fairly certain that I will run 305/660/18 on the front and 325/680/18 on the rear. This works out to a 11.375" of tread width on the front and 12.25" on the back.

Not cf5 or f14s!!!

In his case, I think a set of F14's is exactly what he needs. IIRC the F14's are one of the lightest wheels Forgestar makes and for his car, lighter would be far better than something that "looks" better but is heavier. The F14's are also blatantly Forgestar, something that is important to sponsors...

Congrats on the sponsors although I would stick with a square wheels/tires setup all around for a track car, but that's just me!
