So is Leo's car done? I thought it was a simple bolt in install. No?

It probably would have been had we not requested the modified exhaust components. (and if we had all the parts; that was an oversight on us for not checking that sooner. So now we wait a little longer on getting what we need.)

In the meantime, we got most of Leo's car back to where it needed to be after the Whipple was removed...and some nice powdercoated parts were put on.

Patience. Impatience. Stubbornness. Reluctance. Obsessive drive to get it all done, and so that it will be reliable and properly secured in place.
The remaining items that will need additional fabrication work will be the lengths of exhaust pipe from the turbos to past the transmission mount, into the bends where the cutouts are. The different angles of the turbos and removing those fake cats require redoing those sections. Cutting. Welding. Patience.
Progress nonetheless.

Yeah I was going to mention that, too.

The fiberglass wrap loses particles and they airborne, and all over the place. When putting on the wrap, use gloves and a long-sleeve shirt, and ideally, do it outdoors with very good ventilation. A could see little particles floating around in the air and on the work surface after wrapping.
(Thankfully we have only one more pipe to wrap!)

If you've ever installed fiberglass insulation in your home, bare-handed and without arm/face protection, the resulting itch from doing that is much less than working with this stuff!!!

Yeah the wrap got me good the first time I used it. Some guys swear by wetting the wrap first then wrapping and clamping. Supposedly it makes for a tighter wrap when it dries and less material comes off while your working with it.

Yes, wet is a lot less horrendous (still will itch but you may not end breathing it), I hate that thing with a passion.

I've never tried wetting it myself. I personally don't like the Idea. I believe I read Paul (one eyed willy) mentioned doing it this way.

bump, since JoshK brought it up!
Currently waiting for some parts to come back from s&h. There is a little work I'll be able to get done on the exhaust over the weekend. The cold weather, parts not in-hand, and lots of work have kept me away from getting anything done recently.

yep. 'cold' to us, short-sleeve weather for y'all!
Once i pick up a little kerosene for a heater, that won't be an issue either.

or, i wait for the weekend and it'll be 75*.

In the single digits here at night. Today and yesterday the highs got in the low 30s and I started not wearing a coat! Supposed to be in the 40s this weekend, think I will open the garage doors and get to work again
