Hmmmm. I don't know about the others, but aside from the scoop, I don't think it's exactly hacked up...

I came to check this place out though as I only want to spend the money ONCE to make it the go-fast car I want it to be. I'll try not to mention my steering wheel emblem while here

The scoop, the stripes, they hacked up near the grill area. Everyone we sold came back to the dealer for that damned scoop..Welcome to the site BTW, if you havent had any issues with your're Shelby GT, consider yourself lucky..

My stripes are good, the scoop barely lifts in cold weather, in the sun it looks good, and the grill.... well, unless you looked for that, you woulnd't see it, and I swapped to a black grill with a new shell and packed the original away... $200 fix for the whole assembly and I didn't like the polished billet look anyway. I bought mine used w/ 6k miles last fall, didn't pay much more than comparable GT's. They seem to be bargains now, especially if you would have done a similar suspension anyway.

The only thing that was said even close to that was when someone, in good fun said, "...it is typically an older crowd with more money too. That's why SD is here." A reference to debate about the original poster's age and the money he made with the addition of an obvious jab at SD for his age, and I guess an assumption that because of his car he has money.

Regardless, no one made any such reference or claim as that would be dumb given many of the owners in that forum are people who had to scrapped money together to buy a Shelby when they couldn't afford the GT500, I being one of them.

^^^ ditto. I'm a member there too, and there seems to be quite a few guys that wrench on their own rides and I would say most seem pretty down to earth. Sadly, most, not all, "Shelby" guys think because their car says "Shelby" all over it, that they are a little farther up the food chain than us ole "GT" guys..YOu know whats funny, most of us here have spent double and more for cars/mods than "Shelby" owners paid for their over priced, poor workmanship slow cars..Its funny actually, kind of like Corvette sack lickers..
