Should I keep on modding my 05 GT or just buy a 2011 GT?

I'm probably going to wait for a 50th Anniversary and see what comes out.

I always thought the 1970 Mustang was the ugliest Mustang short of the Mustang II's, then they made the 2010.

That being said I ordered an 11 and it should be here soon.

The 67-68's are wicked cool and the 69 was just the best ever built and the 05-09 looks very much like the 69.

Then I searched the internet and saw this:

and if it is ever built I will eat every word

I'd buy those tailights tomorrow

The best part about it to me is the interior. Anything else can be easily added.

That being said it would be cheaper to do a custom interior, and I personally would be happier with it  As stated in this thread there will always be something better/faster, why start over?

New saleen??? You mean SMS???

Oh and hell no I am faster and better looking then a 2011... Plus why start over...

No, it's Saleen.

and the 2010+ looks tenfold better than the 05-09, which is why I bought one.

Looks are opinion, at first i thought the 2010 was much better looking then the 05-09, but I didn't really care for the headlights as much (Not HATE, just didn't like them). Now I think the 2010 looks better, but mostly for its more aggressive styling, which seems to be the general consensus among the population (the front end is much more aggressive). With that said, a clean silver, gray or black 45th anniversary edition with the GT appearance package makes me drool, as do black or white GT/CS.

Mine will be paid off in a couple of weeks, love the car to death and having a ball buying parts for it. It will be awhile for the 2011's to have pieces parts.

I am lost.... Didnt saleen go out of business and start SMS?

NO.

Steve left Saleen a few years ago. He started SMS. Saleen went thru bankruptcy (IIRC) and continued in business.

To me the 2010-2011 are hands down a better looking car in every way than the 05-09. They handle better as well. And now the 5.0 is by far the BEST platform to start with. If you can afford it. Buy a 5.0. The interior is leaps and bounds above the 05-09 as well. With the ability to control all 4 cams independently low boost on this motor will make awesome power...

Realistically, how much will a 2011 GT cost?

I seems like it'll be north of $35K once you add up taxes and options.

Im never getting rid of my 05.. So much time , blood sweat and tears into this thing. I will put what ever mod motor I want in it but will always keep it. My car is the lightest it can be. I just need to just add power now :p

Honestly once the hype goes down and they have them on hand and any ole fella can go to the lot and see 15 of them. I don't see them being any more than they are now...There was a price jump from 04-05 but that is all from the new platform...given this is the same thing with twicks here and there I dont see a big jump this time around. FYI when the challenger came out there was a guy that paid like 40k above sticker for one...2 months later you could talk them down 2-3k...

Wow thanks for the update, I really thought otherwise!

100% with you on that.. Once I crossed that line where I (put as much as I paid for the car) into mods, shes mine till the very end...

I'm going to pay mine off then buy the last model run of this vintage (2011+). When dealerships are dying to get them off their lots because of the next new thing, I'll be ready to cash in on a great deal!
