Well went to the track last night WON THe Woopass Wednesday event (which is bracket racing) at SARA.

But heres my deal last night was a pretty desent night but I was running consitan 13.0s. I feel that my car has way more then that. It feels like it loses some when I bang third. Im thinking it may be in my tune. Any thoughts?

The best thing to do is datalog some stuff to see if the car is pulling timing, how the air/fuel ratio is, if the knock sensors are pulling timing and what-not. Hard to say what's actually going on without that kind of data.

Congrats on the win!:highfive:
There is always more but sometimes the cost is not worth the gains.

If you cannot datalog then you should get it on a dyno to look at what it is doing at what rpm. It might be helpful to know rather than asume where your curve is and if you are shifting to late or too early in the curve.

Different tunes can be a difference but not always for the better.

In our race group (MOMS) we had quite a few S197s and with all different mods and tunes. Two of us were in the top 3 in class during qualifying this year that ran with the same vender chasing a Fox that was gutted and built for a quicker class but it is not ready to move up. The other S197 in class had a different tune and was always behind me in ET and MPH all last year and half of this year until he switched to Brenspeed. Now I am chasing him and not by much .1 his Manual vs my Auto (he has better tires and 60' 1.8xx vs my 1.9xx so I don't blame the tune).

Call different vendors and ask them about their services like sending a tune based on your datalog or just a email tune, I have only had Brenspeed tunes by mail and cannot offer opinions on the other vendors but I do the free stuff first and make the calls!

Good luck.

What kinda of power you putting down? 13.0 is about right with all your bolt on's unless your running slicks, then mabe you should be in the high 12's? Edit didn't see the cams and LT's in your profile, you should be in the 12's for sure.

I know they are consistent but I want faster. I was hoping to get at least 12.7x out of the car before lowers and relo brackets...

Im launching at about 2000 to 2500 trying to not break the tire lose. I know I can run a 12.7x in the car as it sits and i would say Im a descent driver my best so far out of the car is a 12.83 at 106 with a 1.85 60ft. But like I said before it feels like the loses some right when I get into third then picks back up by the top of the gear.

Sounds like a tuning issues...what RPM are you shifting at? That or something isnt grabbing within the trans, causing a hesitation

I think 6200 is too low. Especially with the Hotrods. Hell, I shift at 6500 now with stock heads/cams. Just set your rev limiter to 6800 and shift at 6500. Should get you closer to your power band in 3rd.

I was also gonna call BBR tomorrow and see if I could send them my dyno graph before and after cams and ask them to raise my limiter as well.

So an update just got done at the track. After changing the plugs and getting an updated tune from BBR and some 15x60/275 MT drag radils I ran.

60ft 1.79
330ft 5.2245
1/8th 8.07 @ 86.72
1/4th 12.58 @ 109

This is my best time to date and Im happy as can be!
