Seeing those piston oil squirters in there is just awesome. I don't know why I love that so much about the new 5.0L engines, but I do.

Because you can make better power with higher compression and less boost than you can with less boost and more compression. That's a VERY general statement and there are exceptions to each but 15psi with 11.5 compression will put out VERY favorable numbers. Plus you don't have a dog when not in boost around town.

I was speaking out of my ass apparently. The new 5.0L IS still considered a modular. My bad.

I read somewhere that people think that modular means the parts are interchangeable between the motors. But in actuality it refers to the tooling used to make the motors is modular, IIRC.

What are some hp/tq estimations of 11.5:1 and 15psi?

I'd like to see some numbers at 30 psi.

Wiseco pistons 11.5-1 compression
Billet Oliver Rods
Stock Crankshaft

We will be installing this unit pretty soon.
See how much power we make on the wheels or fortune!!

We plan on keeping the boost down to about 15 or so.

:evillaugh:

That's what im talking about! Good job guys.

Because it seems like a simple little thing that expresses how much attention to detail the designers had for this motor ;) ...and the benefits toward power and durability that implies.

I feel the same way!!! :thumb:

I've read the same thing. The modular aspect is the same tools and tooling can be used for several different motors for different vehicles...not that the motor parts are interchangeable.

why, they are already making 802rwhp at 16-18 with 11.1, just think what the 11.5 to 1 will do.

i still went to 10.1 on mine, just because i will be running a pump gas tune at times, with low timing for everyday driving

It was 802rwhp w/ 15psi :).... Paxton Rocks LOL

essential for keeping the piston temp down, they've been doing this for ages
on diesels, 22.0 or so comp ratio static, no idea how high it gets when turbo's hitting it. I remember "5.0 mag's" first review of the motor, they said Ford recommended oil cooler for racing..squirters are transferring major heat.
Surprised nobody here on the tech board has addressed this. FRPP has an adapter out now.
