I was wondering about that. Wonder why Ford would leave out those additives when virtually every other 75w-140 gear oil has them? Would there be any adverse events if the Ford modifier is added to the RP gear oil?
If it is a fresh rebuild (new clutches) it doesn't matter what fluid you use, it will need at least 4oz of additive. Most times this is true of a fluid change as well.

Nope just a maintenance change for POM. I will go ahead and add the modifier. Already bought it anyway. Amazon is your friend.

Zijn er veel mustangs in de Nederlands? Mijn nederlands is niet zo goed als vroeger. It's been almost 30 years since I was there. I went to an international boarding school in Eerde, just outside of Zwolle. I lived up north in Groningen.

The Ford stuff should work out for you, or royal purple.

Cool! No not many at all. Even though the S550 is officially sold here, they are so heavily taxed that nobody buys them. 60/70k for the ecoboost and 120k for a GT.

Because that way the can run it with all their differentials. You only need friction modifier if you are using a clutch style posi.

You will need to add 4oz of friction modifier. Have changed several 8.8 Ford diffs gear lube and all had the slow tight turn chatter without the modifier even though I tried several synthetic gear oils that said they had the modifier already in It. 4 oz of the Mototcraft modifier does the trick. I usually run Lucas synthetic 75-140 gear lube.

Went to the local ford dealer, they had a S550 GT on sale in the showroom. Explained what I needed, even gave them the part#, still looked at me like the saw water burning.... guess I'll order some from ebay or something.

Does friction modifier stop working? My '07 F150 5.4 (124,000 miles) has a traction-lok and in the last 1,000 miles or so it has started to have slow speed clutch chatter in the axle. I m not interested in rebuilding the traction-lok, but would like to stop the chatter. Have thought about putting more friction modifier in it.

Any jeeps over there? I've used the mopar stuff when I needed some on a Sunday and it smelled, looked, and worked just like the Ford stuff.
