Hi,
I have a 06 GT automatic with a P1SC HO. The car is completly stock with the complete Procharger kit all the way to their canned tune and fuel pump. The best time so far is a 12.66 @ 109 with a 2.011 sixty on Nitto 555 245-45-18 at 3860 lbs.Naturally I want to improve the ET but this is also a daily driver. Would a custom tune be worth the money? What about a converter? Are 11.90's possible without going into the engine or changing the rear gear? I am very interested in what everyone thinks. Thanks in advance for the advice.

My car is sort-of similar. It also is an 06 that is all stock except for a Vortech aftercooled S-trim kit with the 3.6" pulley that comes with that kit. Mine has 4.10 gears but is otherwise all factory. Mine does have a custom tune by 'Justune'. I bought the car this way.
On 275/40-17 Nitto NT05R drag radials the car's best time is an 11.97 @ 116mph with a 1.79 60'. The tune definitely could use some tweaking in the shift points as it bumps the 6500rpm rev limiter on 1-2 and 2-3 shifts and shifts into 4th at only 5900, so there's definitely more in it.
Tune has about 21° of timing at 6400rpm, high teens at lower rpm.

I don't like the 4.10 gears in this car. I plan on putting 3.31s or 3.55s in it and doing a 3000ish stall converter. I do a lot of freeway driving and the 4.10s get old in a hurry. Probably build the trans while it's apart. Money pit! :)

I am thinking about adding a stall, but I dont know if the tires will handle it. Looks like your car is about where I want to go but I am not going to change the gears. Thanks for the reply.

No, you will definitely need drag radials if you change the converter. But a good converter and some sticky tires, plus a custom dyno tune by someone who really knows what they're doing, will do wonders for your car. I would leave the gears in your car alone personally.

Suppose to go to the chassis dyno next week,I am interested to see what difference it will make in the quarter mile time. I dont expect a big gain though.

Make sure that you have them verify the shift points why you are at the dyno. You can only adjust the shift points down 3 mph but can raise it 7mph.

My tuner has the option of shifting by MPH or RPM. I have it set at 6400 right now.

Ok what tuner do you have? I have mine 6000-6100 just to keep the car safe. I have had it to 6800 multiple times adjusting shift points and it never popped.
