17" tire questions

I have done some searching with little success. I am switching out wheels and tires. For the street I currently run a 28" tire in rear (nitto 555 295/45/18) I love the look and fills the wheelwell out well.

I am going to run 17" skinnies on the front for street/strip they will be 17 by 4. I want a 27" tire. I run 15" skinnies 165/70/15 f, for the track I run a 28" tire on a 1" rim for the track. It jacks up the car,messes up weight transfer and, looks way too small in the front. So any ideas for 17 by 4 rim tire with a 27" diameter.

The rear I am looking for a sticky street tire or DR with some decent wear life. I want at least a 27" diameter. I have seen the 295/45/17 MT DRs but just don't think they will last that long. I have a Whipple,4.10s and manual tranny so a shorter diameter tire will not work or look good on the car. So any info would be great.

why not just get a track set of tires/wheels? a good set of 15's will get you down the track very well and save a little dough too. i run 10x15's with 27x10.5x15 in back with 4x15's with 27x4.5x15 in the front. fills up wheel wells great and has a level stance with good weight transfer.

I have a set of 15s for the track as stated above. looking for 17" skinnies for the front and a 28" diameter 17" tire for the rear. I am tired of swapping 4 tires at the track.

I agree 100% on the 27" for the front I even said MAYBE a 28" on a 17" rim because I run a 28.5" rear 305/45/18 nitto dr and I to don't like the small 26" in the front because of the rake so if you find a 27 by 17 let me know.
