Because 11.0 compression on one of these 5.0's is nothing like running 11.0 compression on a pushrod 5.0 or even a 4.6. Remember these new 5.0's can run on 87 octane with 11.0 compression. There are many improvements that make this platform a lot more knock resistant. You can't go crazy on them of course, but they will endure a lot more before detonation starts up.
