I have a very similar problem on my 2012 Mustang Base Convertible 3.7 automatic. I drove to work and was sitting in park and the engine died. It will not crank or start since then. I bought it new, now has 205,000 on it. The dash shows PATS light is always flashing, "Check Charging System", "Service Advance Track", "TPMS Missing",. The SCAN Tool shows Comm Error - DLC PIN 5 ground is no ground. The shifter is locked in park. I have tested or replaced the following: All fuses and relays inside and out, battery, alternator, ignition switch, Ignition Immobilization Module, all ground connections, reprogrammed keys, replaced batteries in keys, checked all of the connectors and pins, disassembled and checked the Smart J Box - no corrosion or burns on the circuit boards, and I have replaced the PCM. I jumped the starter at the relay and it works fine. None of these helped. Did anyone solve the problem?
