Was bored at work so I was looking up some part numbers for the 2015 mustang 5.0. You can get the 2015 connecting rods and Pistons for pretty cheap. I'm assuming they would work with a 2014, but I'm not sure. Anyone know? Doubt it since they are so new, but I figured I'd ask. Seems like a good idea for a budget engine build.

aren't the pistons pretty much the same? Kind of a waste if just installing slightly better rods.

They have different part numbers, so I'm assuming they are different. Unless they end up replacing the part number later on down the line.

Aren't they basically the Boss forged parts? IMHO unless you're bumping power significantly it would be kind of a waste.

I know, I'm just saying that this could be a good budget build...just like using the boss rods. I don't plan on building my engine ever. Just sharing in case someone wanted to try it before ford raises the prices on the rods/Pistons.

Id rather hear more about the fuel system on the 15 and if the pump is better and interchangeable with the 11-14. Ive seen the question asked but haven't heard a peep about it

Pistons are the same except the 15 has larger cuts for the bigger valves.

The rods are like the boss parts in the 15. Interchangable.

Budget build, not too shabby. But if going for more than 700rwhp, go with something better.

I wouldn't open up my engine to put some other OEM guts into it, I'd put real good stuff.
If it's a budget build.. budget more and wait and save. Just seems like a waste to go through all that work and put OEM components in

There is nothing "budget" about dumping thousands of dollars into an engine, so no reason to skimp.
That's like going to McDonalds and ordering everything on the menu with a diet coke.

I'd put the boss rods in my 3v.

Some of us aren't ballers like you. I put a 13 boss shortblock in my piece of shit because I knew I wasn't going past 700hp to the ground and it came together=big savings. If it blows it blows.

How much rwhp are you pushing? How long? How has it held up?
