Any chance at all I can use a 3" backing plate and pads with my new griots da? i've heard that the 3" can't be used because the 6" polisher is too much power or something for it?

Yes you can use a 3" plate but you don't want to use that on the entire car. I would buy a 5" backing plate and rock some 5.5" pads but it would be nice to have a 3 plate for smaller areas.

You can use the 6" backing plate but the tq isn't really there and it wants to bog down with to much pressure and won't allow the pad to spin. A way to moniter if the pad is spinning is to put a black dash in the backing plate and watch it spin. If it doesn't spin your applying to much pressure.
