Right now I'm running 4.10s with a 28x10.5 slick with a 5 speed the car cuts 1.70 60ft time...is changing to a 4.56 gear going to help me?and if so how much? If I do the swap I will install a true trac while I'm there....

Is that time on nitrous? What RPM at the line now? Are you getting any spin on launch?

On the bottle 100 shot ran [email protected] 60ft....11.55@116 but the clutch slipped in 3rd and 4th gear..so I'm replacing the clutch and adding longtubes and motor mounts...really would like to get the car down to 7.8 7.7 in the 1/8 on the motor..mostly 1/8 mile tracks aroundd here and they have a 8.00 class..BTW roji what does your run run in the 1/8????

See if you can borough a set of 26" slicks, it will give you an idea of what it will be like with 4.56's. If you are going to us 100 shot i would do the clutch and headers first before changing the gears.

7.79 @ 86.something IIRC best.

these are good weather times. i'm sure with the weather like it is now it would drop a tenth or two

if you look at the 1/4 mile database for n/a cars, it's #17. if you look at the list, my car mph's really well and does so beyond the 1/8. it started doing that after a new tune from american muscle with updated cam timing.

I run 4:56s with 28inch tire and it works out good. Goes through the traps at 6200 to 6300rpm.

my shift light and tach must be way off. i trap 114 with a 26" tall tire and the shift light comes on just as i'm passing thru the traps and it's set at 6500rpm. i'm not sure how you can get that rpm with a 28" tall tire and only run 109 mph.

even using the rpm calculator, i come up with 5964 for your set up. and if you get any tire growth, that will reduce the rpm even more than that. when i use the calculator on mine, the mph and rpm works out to a 27" tall tire even though it's a 26". I assume the tire grows some on the top end making the number slightly skewed.

are you running an auto with a loose converter?

It's a stick car. I go through in 4th but maybe my tach is off a little. The 109 was at 6000rpm but it usually trap higher, at 113 so it's 6200 most of the time.

as far a stock tach.. i know mine is off 250rpm from what the dyno reads..so if my tach reads 1000rpm on the dyno it shows 750rpm...

really i go by the shift light. as soon as i cross the line if i stay in it the shift light will come on, set at 6500.

i've been wanting to try a 15" wheel set up with the 27x11x15 hoosier quick time pro's. that to me seems to be the perfect tire combo for my set up.
